Lock repair in Barcelona
The latch scrapes, the faceplate shifts or the throw jumps, and the key is fine. We repair what the mechanism allows; a part that does not exist is not invented.
Repair is recovering the throw of a case that still works: strike, faceplate, dirt, a screw that no longer bites. If the case is cracked or the cylinder has broken internally, the useful route is replacement.
The example is €58 + VAT (€70.18) with travel included. If the same visit ends in a replacement, that amount is deducted.
Faults that can be recovered
A latch that scrapes the frame
The leaf has dropped or the strike has moved. Regulation is often enough.
A jumping turn with a good key
A dirty or dry mechanism. Workshop work can restore the throw.
A loose faceplate
The screws no longer bite. It is refixed or the plate is replaced if the holes are oval.
Where repair makes sense
Old wood in Gràcia or Ciutat Vella
Swollen leaves and AZBE. The strike is checked first; then the case.
A flat with a standard case
If the bolt is intact, a new case is not needed.
A shop with daily use
The closing wears. Sometimes it is regulated; sometimes the case is finished.
When we do not repair
A cracked case or a broken bolt
There is no spare part that makes it reliable. Replacement is proposed.
A destroyed cylinder
That is a cylinder change, not lock repair.
Welding a wrecked faceplate
We do not weld or rebuild carpentry.

Frequently asked questions
Can every lock be repaired?
No. A cracked case is replaced. The visit exists so an impossible repair is not invented.
Is there a warranty?
Twelve months of labour on what was regulated. If a new part is supplied on the visit, that part has the legal conformity warranty against the party who hands it to you, not only the manufacturer’s commercial warranty. It does not cover a case that was already at its limit and fails again from an internal break.
Is it faster than replacement?
If the fault is the strike, yes. If a case must be sourced, replacement can be shorter.
