Lock replacement in Barcelona
The case that moves the bolts is replaced. The cylinder is a different part: if only the barrel has failed, the whole lock does not need changing.
Lock replacement = swapping the mortise or rim mechanism in a pocket that already exists. If a new pocket must be cut, that is installation. If the case still works and only scrapes, that is repair.
There is no closed catalogue price: the edge decides the case. The visit measures and states the amount before the old one comes out.
When the fault is the case, not the cylinder
The key turns and the latch stops halfway
Internal wear or a broken bolt. The barrel may be sound.

The case no longer seals. Replacement is better than patching the bolt.

If the frame is sound and the case is cracked, the lock is replaced.

Without a sound strike the new case will not hold. Carpentry is not this trade.

Without opening the wood or metal more than needed if the pocket can be used.
Fit and regulate
New case, key test and latch adjustment against the frame.

Frequently asked questions
Is replacing the lock the same as replacing the cylinder?
No. The cylinder is the barrel. The lock is the case. Sometimes the barrel is enough; sometimes the case must go.
Does the frame need to be changed?
Only if it is split. The visit shows whether the pocket can be reused.
Why is there no closed price?
Because the edge changes. The Sants example is for a reusable pocket; another edge is quoted once measured.
