Cylinder replacement in Barcelona
The cylinder is the barrel the key turns. It is changed to recover control of the access without touching the case when that case is still sound.
If a key is lost, copied without control or the turn is stiff, the replacement is the barrel. If the key turns and the latch will not throw, the fault is in the case: that is lock replacement or repair.

A key that is hard to turn
Worn pins or dirt. Forcing your wrist every day ends up snapping the key.
A cylinder broken flush with the faceplate
The remainder is extracted and a new one of the correct length is fitted.
A key set out of control
Works, a previous tenant or a loss. The new barrel leaves those copies outside.
Where a euro-profile fits
A flat with a mortise lock
The usual size is 30-30 to 40-40. One side longer than the other is common on thick doors.
A reinforced door
It often needs a security cylinder and, if the projection is excessive, an escutcheon.
A shop
Shutter and pedestrian door may have different barrels. List which you want changed.
Limits of a cylinder change
No key and locked out
The door is opened first (opening) and then the barrel is changed.
A case that will not throw
A new cylinder does not fix a broken bolt. That is diagnosed first.
An electronic cylinder
We do not fit them. If the fault is a battery or a reader, it is not this trade.
Models we measure and fit
TESA T60, T80, TK100
The most requested in Barcelona. A TK100 is not cut by eye: each side is measured.
CISA ASIX / RS3, standard Yale, ISEO R6 / F6
Replacement by cam and length. An ASIX is not swapped for a generic barrel without seeing the case.

How many keys are supplied?
The standard example includes 3. The security one, 5. Another set is stated on the visit.
The same key for several doors?
Only if the cylinders are compatible. It is quoted once they are seen.
Does a cylinder change open the door if I am locked out?
No. The access is opened first; then the barrel is replaced.
What warranty does the new cylinder have?
As goods we supply, the new barrel has the legal conformity warranty against Cerrajería Efectiva, not only the manufacturer’s commercial warranty of the model. Labour on the change has twelve months if the use is as agreed.
